Detailed Itinerary

Embark on a spiritual and historical journey through the heart of Central India. Begin your adventure in Indore, travel to the ancient city of Ujjain, explore the sacred sites of Omkareshwar, witness the serene beauty of Maheshwar, and conclude your trip in the architectural wonderland of Mandu. This tour offers religious significance, historical marvels, and cultural experiences.




Day 1: Arrival in Indore and Transfer to Ujjain

  • Arrive at Indore Airport or Station and drive to Ujjain.

  • For those arriving by train from Bhopal or other cities, Ujjain is easily accessible.

  • Ujjain is approximately 335 km from Udaipur (Rajasthan), which is about a 7-hour drive.

Day 02: Exploring Ujjain
Ujjain is a significant religious destination with a rich historical background. It was once the capital of the great ruler Vikramaditya. The Mahakaleshwar Shiva Temple, where the Bhasamarti and Jalabhishek rituals of Lord Mahakaleshwar are performed daily before sunrise between 4:00 am to 6:00 am, requires booking at least one month prior. Visitors must pass strict security checks and reach the temple by 2:30 am. After breakfast, visit Sandipani Muni Ashram, where Lord Krishna and Balram received their education. Proceed to Mangal Nath Temple and Kal Bhairab Temple, where you can offer liquor to Bhairab Ji. At the Ram Ghat of the Shipra River, you can take a dip; this site hosts the Kumbh Mela every 12 years. After lunch, visit Jantar Mantar (the Observatory), built by Maharaja Jai Singh II in 1725, featuring 13 architectural astronomy instruments. Visit Mahakaleshwar Temple, influenced by Paramara, Chalukya, and Maratha architectural styles, with the lingam being one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in India. In the evening, visit the Chintman Ganesh Temple, built in the 12th century, with a self-manifested Ganesh idol. Overnight stay in a hotel in Ujjain.

Day 3: Ujjain to Omkareshwar
After breakfast, drive to Omkareshwar, a three-hour journey. Omkareshwar, situated on the banks of the Narmada River, is named after the sacred word OM associated with Lord Shiva. Participate in the Jal Abhishek at Omkareshwar and enjoy a boat ride on the Narmada River. Explore other attractions such as Siddhanath Temple, Zero Point, the 24 Avatars group of Temples, Kajal Rani Cave, and Gauri Siddhanath Temple. Stay overnight at a hotel in Omkareshwar.

Day 04: Omkareshwar to Maheshwar and Mandu
After breakfast, drive to Maheshwar (60 km, approximately 1.5 hours). Visit Narmada Ghat, Maheshwar Fort, Ahilya Bai Fort and Palace, Maheshwar Museum, Shri Raj Rajeshwar Temple, Akhileshwar Temple, and explore handloom weaving producing Maheshwari saris and fabrics. Later, drive to Mandu (1 hour). Overnight stay in a hotel in Mandu.

Day 5: Mandu to Indore
Mandu is an ancient fort city known for its Afghan architectural heritage, surrounded by stone walls with numerous gates. Spend the day exploring important buildings including Jahaz Mahal, Hoshang Shah’s Tomb, Hindola Mahal, Baz Bahadur Palace, Jami Masjid, Rani Rupmati Palace, Ashrafi Mahal, Rupmati Pavilion, Lohani Caves, Rewa Kund, Darya Khan’s Tomb, Taveli Mahal, and Bagh Buddhist Caves.

After sightseeing, drive to Indore, a one-hour journey. Spend the night at a hotel in Indore.

Day 6: Indore Drop
Indulge in Indore's famous street food and enjoy sightseeing. Later, transfer to the airport or station for your onward journey.
